Financial Literacy Camp

On August 20th and 21st, 2024, Mohit Muskan Foundation, in partnership with Suryoday Foundation, held a special Financial Literacy Camp at Odyssey, Raheja Reflection, Kandivali East, Mumbai. The camp was designed to empower domestic help and service staff by enhancing their financial well-being and reducing their dependency on loans.




Key Highlights:

1. Financial Education: Sessions were conducted on savings and effective financial management, providing participants with essential tools for financial stability.

  

2. Government Schemes Assistance: Participants received help with E-Shram registration, ABHA registration, Domestic Workers Card, Ladki Bahin Yojana registration and Ayushman Bharat Card and Screening for the Mahatma Phule Yojana. All the  beneficiaries received all the registered ID cards on the spot


3. Importance of Aadhaar Linking: The camp emphasized the importance of linking mobile numbers with Aadhaar cards and seeding bank accounts with Aadhaar to facilitate smoother access to government services.


4. Bank Account Opening: Assistance was provided for opening bank accounts on-site, with further direction given to nearby banks for those who couldn’t be accommodated during the event.


5. Insurance and Pension Support: Guidance was offered on various schemes, including Atal Pension Yojana, widow pensions, PMJJBY, PMSBY, Mahila Samman Bachat Yojana, 


Over 100 individuals benefited directly from the camp, gaining crucial financial education and support. Additionally, snacks and juices were generously distributed by the Mohit Muskan Foundation to both beneficiaries and attendees who came to observe the event, fostering a sense of community and inclusion.


The camp was a resounding success, significantly impacting the lives of the participants. The initiative was well-received by the service staff and the broader community, marking a meaningful step toward their financial independence.
